Description
Deformed Bar Anchors DBA (3/4 x 42-3/16″)
Our Deformed Bar Anchors are composed of low-carbon steel (ASTM A1064-18, ASTM A496 has been withdrawn).
When Arc Stud Welding with the proper equipment and setup, you obtain a full fusion weld that becomes stronger than the stud itself.
These general purpose deformed bar anchors are designed for weld and bearing plates in concrete connections. They can be welded to a flat surface or to the inside or outside of an angle. Some of the advantages of deformed bar anchors are:
- Grip: Deformed surface of DBAs creates a mechanical bond with concrete, preventing slippage and separation
- Load Support: Designed to increase holding power in concrete and maximize material strength
- Installation and welding process is quick and simple
Structural steel fabrication commonly uses arc studs. A process called arc stud welding allows a metal fastener to be welded to a parent metal through a fusion weld. A “ferrule” captures and retains the weld’s heat. The process creates molten metal that cools the weld site. The weld produced is stronger than the stud itself. Welders can use drawn arc stud welding with dissimilar metals such as mild and stainless steel, as well as aluminum.
